Precision Nutrition for Military Families
ARS-funded research at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging in Boston, MA, focused on nutrition and diet in the homes of active and retired military families. Researchers looked to empower military families with nutritional knowledge, including the biological factors that can determine weight regulation.
One of the key factors to maintain a good diet is to not be hungry. Participating miliary families were introduced to a nutritional program that emphasized reducing hunger by preparing foods, eating foods high in fiber, and relearning the eating process.
